Here's where we're at.
Experience Bridgetown–Greenbushes runs across four phases through to 2028. Here's the plan — and where we are in it right now.
PHASE 1 - Getting started - March 2026 - mid-2026 (active now)
Building the foundations - the team, the relationships and the research groundwork.
What's happened so far
The Tourism Sub-Committee is up and running.
Businesses, operators and key contacts across the region have been mapped and engagement
is underway.
A grant application has been lodged with the State Government - outcome expected before end of financial year.
Cultural engagement has begun, building relationships with Noongar Traditional Custodians.
Community awareness is underway with Business After Hours event delivered, community
video in production and contact with businesses.
PHASE 2 - Co-creating the Blueprint (coming mid-2026)
Co-creating the Blueprint Mid-2026 onwards
This is where the community gets to shape things.
We'll run workshops across the region, talk to businesses and residents and conduct a proper audit of the visitor economy. From there, we'll develop a destination brand that tells this place's story the way it deserves to be told.
Mid-2026 is when the project moves into this phase of community engagement, regional workshops and the Visitor Economy Audit. We're committed to this regardless of the grant outcome, though the scope and pace will be shaped by the funding available. Either way, this is when the broader community conversation begins and when we'd really like your involvement. You'll be invited to every part of it.
Register now so you're first to hear about workshops.
PHASE 3 - The plan goes public (2027 - subject to Phase 2 completion)
The strategy is published, endorsed and ready to act on.
The final Blueprint is released - endorsed by the Chamber, the Shire and the community. The destination brand goes live. Investment conversations begin.
Phase 4: Making it last 2027–2028
Turning the plan into long-term change. We build the structures, skills and systems to keep the visitor economy growing and put together a plan to carry the work beyond 2028.
